Glass Purchasing at D&L Art Glass Supply

We are here to help

At D&L we stock more than 5,000 different sheets of glass from over 25 manufacturers. Glass is in our name and is a large portion of our business. Glass is beautiful, unique and often a trial to ship. Fortunately, D&L has more than 40 years of experience shipping all kinds of glass all over the world. We have compiled the information on this page to help you with your glass purchases.

A few facts

Here's some important facts to consider as you assemble a glass order:
  1. Sheet sizes vary, not only from manufacturer to manufacturer, but sometimes the sheet size varies from the same manufacturer.
  2. Full sized glass sheets must ship Motor Freight (truck) or be picked up at out warehouse (with a few exceptions, for example dichroic glass).
  3. Many sheets may be cut down to a smaller size for shipping via UPS or FedX. We offer several glass box sizes. See more information below to Maximize Your Glass Box.
  4. Some sheets may be ordered at the half size, for example Spectrum and Wissmach fusible sheets. Simply enter a quantity of .5
  5. While most glass sheet pricing is known, some pricing for glass on this website is an educated guess - in some cases the sheet size variation will alter the actual price charged. We will only ever charge you for the glass amount shipped.
  6. Glass breaks. Be sure to read the Terms and Conditions for sale. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to Contact us.

Maximize Your Glass Box

When you need less glass than a crated motor freight shipment, D&L offers several box options for shipping smaller amounts of glass. Additional boxing and cutting charges will apply. We recommend filling the glass box to maximize their value. You may include glass from various manufacturers in the same glass box (with the exception of DI BOX). Glass only (no tools) ship in the glass boxes. All boxes listed below may be shipped UPS, FedEx or postal service.

Cutting options for Armstrong Glass

Armstrong Glass
Armstrong sheets of glass are cut into quarters for shipping. The result is 4 pieces of approximately 21" x 16" glass taking up 4 slots and fitting in either a UPS L or UPS S box.

Cutting options for Bullseye Glass

Bullseye Glass
Most Bullseye glass sheets are cut in half and take 2 slots of the UPS L box. Each piece is approximately 17.5" x 20".
The exception is Bullseye thin rolled sheets (item codes ending in 50 or 50F) Bullseye thin sheets fit uncut into 1 slot of the UPS L box, or they can be cut in half to take 2 slots of a UPS S box.

Cutting options for Kokomo Glass

Kokomo Glass Sheets
Kokomo sheets start at 32" x 32" square, so they can be quartered to approximately 16" x 16" pieces to take 4 slots in either a UPS L or UPS S box.

Cutting options for Spectrum Glass

Spectrum Glass Sheets
Spectrum non-fusible sheets (and some fusible) start at 48" x 24" and may be cut into thirds of approximately 16" x 24" pieces to take 3 slots in either a UPS L or UPS S box. Spectrum Waterglass sheets (approximately 48" x 22") may also be cut into thirds of approximately 16" x 22" pieces to take 3 slots in a UPS L or UPS S box. Spectrum half sheets or many fusible sheet start at 24" x 24" and may be cut in half to approximately 12" x 24" to take 2 slots in UPS L or UPS S.
Spectrum half sheets may also be shipped at the 24" x 24" size in a Spectrum 24Box which holds 6 sheets.
And finally, Spectrum sheets cut to 12" x 12" may also be shipped at a quantity of 24 in a Spectrum Box. Each Spectrum half sheet (24" x 24") takes 4 slots at 12" x 12", so a total of 6 half sheets may be shippied in the Spectrum box.

Cutting options for Uroboros Glass

Uroboros Glass Sheets
Uroboros art glass and 90 COE (90FX) sheets start at 30" x 24" so when cut in half (to approximately 15" x 24") they take 2 slots of either UPS L or UPS S boxes. System 96 (96 coe) glass sheets from Uroboros can be halved to approximately 24" x 24" pieces to take 4 slots in either a UPS L or UPS S box.

Glue Chip Sheets
Glue chip sheets (either double or single ship) of 36" x 24" maybe halved to produce 2 sheets of approximately 18" x 24" which fit the UPS L box taking 2 slots. These sheets may also be quartered - to produce 4 pieces of 18" x 12" glass to take 4 slots in the UPS S box. Both Choice and Duncan glue chip sheets are 36" x 24".

Cutting options for Clear Imported Textures

Clear Imported Textures
Most clear imported textured sheets generally come in 1 of 3 sheet sizes, any of which may be cut down to fit into a UPS L or UPS S box. A 48" x 24" sheet would be cut into thirds with each piece finishing at approximately 16" x 24".
