Additional Information

Over the years, skilled flameworkers have been forming their own ground joints using a reamer and a waxed glass ground joint to finalize the tapered fitting. These tools have been designed as a two-part joint forming tool. Use the reamer to achieve 90% of the tapered fitting and the brass "plug" to finalize the shape. Both parts are the width and length of a Lenz or Accugrind manufactured 10-1 ground joint.

Joint forming tools should be waxed each time they are heated and for better success, slightly preheat the plug in the back flame before using. Overheating the tool while forming the joint may cause the 2 parts to stick. If this occurs, the plug has gotten too hot. Detailed instructions will be included with each item, as they do take a little getting used to.

Tools are composed of an aluminum base, with brass tips.
