Additional Information

Trautman Odds & Seconds

Trautman Odds & Seconds are sold by the manufacturer bundle quantity only. Bundle weights typically range from 1 to 4 pounds. Minimum order quantity is one pound or the smallest available bundle on hand. D&L will notify you of order requirements if the available bundle weights exceed your order quantity. So, specify how many pounds you want in the cart.

Trautman Odd quality rods are off shape first quality glass. Rods may be oval, curved, tapered or short.

Trautman Second quality rods may be odd shaped, but will be flawed with brick inclusions, undissolved chemicals, or other cosmetic flaws.

IO Star

IO Star resembles Heavy Blue Stardust in the rod, because it has more of the aventurine sparkle than the Shooting Star. But it also has more silver, and is more reactive than the Shooting Star -- and this gives it a beautiful rich green sparkle base color. Like the Shooting Star, the Io Star will flame strike, and will strike a bit more in the kiln during a regular 1050 anneal cycle. The glittery component in this glass is based on the Blue Stardust technology, so it's quite stable -- but we recommend AVOIDING high temperature kiln cycles that some people like to use for kiln-striking an amber/purple, due to the aventurine. Please don't run this color over 1050 F in the kiln. Safe in implosions.
